Wilsonville (OR) Bicycle, Pedestrian and Trail Plan
As part of the City of Wilsonville’s Master Planning Update, which also includes the Parks and Recreation and Transit Master Plans, Alta is facilitating a year-long process to update the Bicycle, Pedestrian and Trail Plan. Based on suggestions and responses from a recent Wilsonville survey in which over 90% of residents indicated a desire for more walkways and bikeways, Alta is looking at options for crossing and more actively enjoying the Willamette River. The trail network will also provide local connections to and from parks, schools, commuter rail, shopping areas and other community resources.
Alta is leading the coordinated public involvement effort, a key component of the Master Planning process. To date, we have held eight stakeholder meetings and four public meetings, met with a group of schoolchildren at a middle school, organized a primary school written and oral survey, coordinated with a parks planning team, facilitated an ongoing citizens committee, and produced a brochure about the Master Planning Update that was distributed to all Wilsonville households.
