Vancouver (WA) Bicycle and Pedestrian Elements, Transportation System Plan
Alta developed the bicycle and pedestrian elements of Vancouver’s $900,000 Transportation System Plan. Key issues included incorporating bicycle lanes on many existing roadways, developing bicycle boulevards through neighborhoods, and integrating Vancouver's growing path network. Vancouver is one of the most rapidly expanding communities in the Northwest. Additional issues included coordinating with the City’s “concurrency” standards, which prevent development without traffic remediation to keep traffic at a certain level of service (LOS). Alta also prepared a separate Trails Master Plan.
