Sunset Park, Corvallis (OR)
Sunset Park plans and construction documents include a series of park improvements and wetland and riparian enhancements that serve the residents of this growing southwest Corvallis neighborhood. About 1/3 of the park is wetland bounded by Dunawi Creek, an important cultural resource and the main travel route between the summer and winter camping areas of the Kalapuya Indian tribe, as well as a source of several native foods and basket-making supplies. Site improvements include a basketry plantation, restoration of wetland and stream function, progressive stormwater treatment, a regional trail connection, interpretive boardwalk and new play and community park facilities.
