Sherry Ryan, Ph.D., Associate

Dr. Ryan is a transportation planner with a focus on GIS applications, pedestrian and bicycle master planning, and transportation-related research. In addition to her duties at Alta Planning + Design, Dr. Ryan is an associate professor in the Graduate Program in City Planning at San Diego State University. She has served as Project Manager for several pedestrian and bicycle plans, including the Carlsbad Pedestrian Master Plan, the City of San Diego Pedestrian Master Plan, and the San Diego Regional Bicycle Plan. She has also published extensively on the subjects of transportation-land use relationships, travel behavior, and urban form.
