Alta will teach a pedestrian safety training course to five Seattle elementary schools in fall 2011, spring 2012, and fall 2012. The training will consist of three sessions, including one "walking field trip" during which students will practice their new pedestrian safety skills in a real-life environment. Alta will manage the hiring, training, and supervision of instructors and will evaluate the program's impact. The curriculum was developed by Alta in 2008-2009 for SDOT; this is the second add-on contract.
