Safe Routes to Schools
Alta is pleased to be at the forefront of the SR2S movement. We are available to provide a variety of SR2S technical assistance, ranging from conducting school walking audits to conducting workshops. One senior staff member and one junior staff member are certified National SR2S Instructors, and Alta has developed SR2S program curriculum for local elected officials, traffic engineers, city planners, health officials, and school officials.
Our toolbox of solutions includes: signal timing modifications; curb extensions and median islands; traffic calming; markings and signage; bicycle lanes; crosswalks; educational safety curriculums; and outreach programs to encourage safe driving.
