Bruce Randolph Anderson, Landscape Architect and Planner

Bruce Randolph “Randy” Anderson is a landscape architect and planner with nearly 30 years experience in public and private practice. For the past 15 years, Mr. Anderson has focused primarily on trails, paths, and other accommodations for alternative transportation modes, and on open space preservation and sustainable development. As owner and principal of LandPeople, Mr. Anderson has been responsible for numerous planning and design projects in sensitive environmental settings, often with controversial public issues and complex technical requirements. He is a trained and experienced public participation facilitator, and is adept at organizing and managing multi-disciplinary consultant teams.

Prior to founding LandPeople in 2000, Mr. Anderson was, for eight years, Senior Planner or Planning Manager for the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, with responsibility for 24 public preserves on the San Francisco Peninsula totaling over 45,000 acres. Previously, he was an associate/project manager with The Planning Collaborative, San Francisco; Wilsey & Ham, Engineers and Planners, Foster City; and CARD Corporation, Planners and Economists, Sacramento. His project experience spans urban redevelopment, business district improvement, neighborhood, community and regional park and preserve plans, commercial and residential planned developments, landscape design, resource management and restoration, and planning of new or improved public facilities.
