As part of an impressive team led by Boston's Halvorson Design Partnership, Alta and partners, including HDR Engineering, Nelson/Nygaard, Nitsch Engineering and Epsilon, were selected by the Commonwealth's Department of Conservation and Recreation to develop a plan addressing the needs of pedestrians and cyclists along an eight-mile stretch of the Charles River Basin. The effort will include recommendations for new trails and improved open spaces along the river, in addition to enhanced pedestrian and bike connections to ten bridges. The contract secures on-call services for a five-year period after the initial 18-month community process and planning effort.
