Boring Station Trailhead Park

Alta worked with Clackamas County and community members to develop a conceptual design for the Boring Station Trailhead Park as well as development of construction documents for a 2.2 mile addition to the Springwater Corridor multi-use trail. Issues associated with the Trailhead Park included connections to the regional trail system, parking, access and information related to the trails, interpretation of the area's railroad history, maintaining the town's rural character, and developing a public gathering space for the community of Boring. The Springwater Trail is a significant regional amenity creating a connection between downtown Portland and the Pacific Crest Trail. The design addressed the varying needs of pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians while being sensitive to area wetlands and rural character.
