I'm a strong believer in making good, healthy choices for myself, my community, and our impact on the world. Because I'm constantly on the go, how I get around is a choice carrying major weight in my life. I support and promote alternate transportation options for communities including public transit, bicycle, and pedestrian infrastructure to keep people moving. Through my work with Transportation Options , Shift , and the World Carfree Network 's Carfree Cities Conference, I'm encouraging others to think differently about how they move through their daily lives, build healthy communities, and be aware of the impact we have on one another and our planet.

Alta allows me to apply my technical background to this cause by supporting the projects that make a difference in communities around the world. I've gone from door-to-door
SmartTrips promotion in my own city to assisting with the deployment of option promoting programs in multiple cities. I develop feedback infrastructure and distribute media for communities to get involved in their projects and stay up to date on our progress. The bicycle infrastructure and multi-use paths I take advantage of in my own city are becoming available and improving thanks to Alta and how we interact with those who use our products.

My personal preference for transportation is the bicycle and it's one of my favorite hobbies. In addition to daily commuting, I take part in much of Portland's fun and crazy bike culture including
Breakfast on the Bridges , Move by Bike , Pedalpalooza , and Zoobomb just to name a few. I'm a volunteer bike mechanic for Bike Farm and liaison for Shift's sponsorship under Umbrella . When I'm not on two wheels, I tend to be on eight- for fear of being mono-modal in my daily life, my other love is skating. Multi-use paths, parks, hard surface trails, and pedestrian corridors are my rolling ground when I'm skating outdoors. Indoors I'm on the track as a referee and coach for the Rose City Rollers .
