Alta Planning is joining forces with the Durham, North Carolina office of Greenways Incorporated, with an official start date of the January 1, 2011. The combined group will operate under the name ‘Alta/Greenways’ during a transition period, starting immediately.

Led by Chuck Flink, Greenways Incorporated, founded in 1987, was one of the first consulting firms in the country to specialize in non-motorized transportation, including designing multi-use trails, and completing bicycle, pedestrian, and trail master plans. Through the years the firm has been a pioneer in producing award-winning projects. Alta Planning + Design, founded in 1996 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, has a staff of 70 professionals in 15 offices including Davidson, North Carolina.
