In my youth, my parents treated me to some iconic bicycles – an “Evil Knievil” by Huffy, an “Open Road” by AMC, and a brown “Continental” by Schwinn. These bikes provided me with endless hours of fascination and joyful riding experiences – and as for the Evil Knievil bike, a few stitches to boot! These experiences provided the foundation for many more biking miles in my life. I enjoyed a bicycle tour from Seattle to Denver over three mountain ranges, a stint as a bicycle messenger in San Francisco, participation in the original Critical Mass rides, and extensive bicycle commuting miles over the years. I am very pleased to join Alta and its talented team in bringing similar experiences to like-minded people and clients throughout the county.
I have been a member of the South End Rowing Club in San Francisco for the past twenty years. Through this unique and historic club I have swam from Alcatraz to SF numerous times (once with an unannounced submarine surfacing during the swim - that was interesting!), have regularly swam under the Golden Gate Bridge from SF to Sausalito, learned to play handball from some salty old dogs and obtained the mental wherewithal to tough out finishing a few double Dipsea running races.

Recent Projects
Konocti Regional Trails Plan
The Konocti Regional Trails Plan will serve as a “backbone” trail system for the future overall Lake County trails system. The Konocti Regional Trails Plan will identify trail links to public lands, major recreation destinations, and outlying communities to create the future county wide trails network.
San Quentin Area Bike & Pedestrian Study
The San Quentin Area Bike and Pedestrian Access Study is one of the top priority projects in Marin County as described in the 2008 Marin County Unincorporated Area Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (completed by Alta) as well as a key gap identified in the San Francisco Bay Trail Gap Analysis Study (completed by Alta).
Sonoma Marin Area Rapid Transit SMART-Bike Path Plan
Alta led the planning and preliminary engineering of the 72-mile SMART Pathway project, between Healdsburg and larkspur in Sonoma and Marin Counties. The pathway is proposed to be located adjacent to the planned commuter rail line, and includes extensive wetland issues, creek crossings, cut and fill, roadway crossings, and other issues.
